Its March, the month of daffodils, baby lambs, and all things fresh & green! The memories of the cold, dark nights are starting to fade, and new life is budding on every branch. Springtime is the most invigorating of all seasons, particularly when it comes to fresh ingredients. Consequently, The Castle Inn’s new spring menu is invigorating to say the least!
To celebrate, we are launching our new seasonal menu. Our dedicated kitchen team have been crafting new dishes just for you to try. We have worked in collaboration with our trusted local suppliers, ensuring the finest produce in the Somerset region is in our offering.
Our talented chefs have carefully created a set of unique menus for lunch & dinner, a new Sunday lunch menu, alongside a brand new Prixe Fixe menu to try too.
This spring we are bringing you a totally new range of Small Plate sharer dishes, something to nibble on whilst the starters are being created. Choose from Homemade Breads, Buttermilk Fried Chicken Strips, or a Venison & Juniper Pasty to really get the taste buds going!
It’s incredibly important to sample the best flavours and luxurious aromas of the region in our new starter plates. How about sampling our Pan Fried Beetroot Gnocchi, Wild Boar & Red Wine Arancino, or Locally Smoked Scottish Salmon. These dishes all have a strong Somerset influence. You also can’t miss our Courgette Carpaccio topped with shaved fennel, mint gremolata, orange and rocket too. It’ll be a firm favourite!
Following one of the largest food trends in recent years we are continuously improving and developing our vegetarian and vegan dishes. With all the fresh new produce spring is the perfect season to try a plant-based diet, and our dishes can be adapted where possible. Can we tempt you with our new Beetroot & Squash Filo Tart, Chestnut Bourguignon Pie, or Spring Pesto Rigatoni, perhaps? All cooked using the freshest local herbs, fruit and vegetables from our local growers. We hope you’re going to love them!
We know there are those of you who can never imagine going meat-free. So our beautiful new Confit Duck Leg, Roast Chicken Supreme, and Braised Lamb Shoulder will really bring you the best meats spring has to offer. Our close working partnerships with local farmers and suppliers mean we can pride ourselves on using premium cuts and the highest quality meats there are.
And we could never forget the desserts. Therefore we have added some exciting new creations as well as updating classic plates. Sample delights such as Sticky Toffee Pudding, Warm Chocolate & Hazelnut Brownie, Rhubarb & Rose Crumble to finish your meal perfectly.
Our new seasonal menu is exquisitely complemented by our Aperitifs and cocktails, lovingly crafted by our bartending team, using the finest springtime ingredients. Likewise, make your meal complete with one of our speciality coffees and digestifs.
